Sausage maker in the US use it. You'll never need more than a few teaspoons, and some butchers will give it
to you for free, if you are a regular customer.
Pottasche = Saltpeter
Backpulver = Baking Powder
(sodium hydrogen carbonate (also called sodium bi-carbonate) and other
ingrediences like cornstarch.
Baking Soda contains only sodium bi-carbonate and would therefore not have a German equivalent.
